Curriculum 2013/2014
The MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management is taken over four semesters. The first three semesters have a more classroom based approach whilst the final semester allows students to apply the skills and knowledge they have leaned to a final project of their choosing.
Each module is challenging and intensive, typically involving 45 classroom hours.
The second year of the programme will be held at the University of Florida’s Rosen College, one of America’s biggest schools of Tourism and Hospitality and located near some of the most visited destinations in the world.

Faculty
This program benefits from having two world-class faculties sharing their international vision, outstanding research and experience in the Management and Hospitality and Tourism areas. In addition the program also benefits from a shared goal to both Schools of providing an outstanding learning experience with every course and a deep contact with the business reality.
The teaching methodologies adopted in the Master in Hospitality and Tourism Management are characterized by a strong practical and entrepreneurial component. The different curricular units foster the undertaking of practical work and empirical studies so that each student can develop his/her knowledge and skills through a constant interaction between new concepts and their applications.
ISCTE Business School and UCF Rosen College will provide the program a high quality faculty team mixing Management and Hospitality and Tourism expertise, with a relevant international experience and well connected with the industry.

Coordination
A faculty member in the UCF Rosen College and in ISCTE’s Business School will serve as Program Coordinators, and have oversight responsibilities for joint research ventures, and faculty/student exchanges. They will further coordinate and oversee the implementation and administration of the dual degree program at UCF and ISCTE, respectively.
Prof. Paul Rompf, UCF Rosen College Graduate Programs Director, and Prof. Paulo Rita, Professor of Marketing IBS - ISCTE, were appointed as coordinators.

In the first year the following table shows the provisional calendar at ISCTE Business School. The second year will have a similar pattern at ISCTE, but for the students enrolled in the dual degree program, the second year in the Rosen College, Orlando, will start in late August.

Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships is available to candidates providing clear evidence of outstanding academic achievement. The scholarships may cover up to 100% of the tuition fees.
A high GMAT or GRE score enhances a student's scholarship application.
Please note that the scholarship application is only considered after submitting programme application and payment of the respective application fee.

Scholarships Turismo de Portugal
Our Master programme counts already with sponsorship by Turismo de Portugal (the Portuguese National Tourist Office) which addresses financial support to students in the form of scholarships. The scholarships will be given to selected students as a result of an assessment process among the applicants. Negotiations are also being conducted with other potential sponsoring organizations.
