Term 0 - Management and Marketing Topics (optional)
Since not all degree candidates have the same academic and professional backgrounds, ISCTE Business School offers a preliminary term called Introduction to Management and Marketing Topics.
The admissions committee may recommend this introductory term after appraising the applicant's CV. This special preparation will enable students to adapt more easily to the complex issues discussed in their required courses.

Faculty
IBS faculty members are well-known, active contributors to management education who have published widely in a host of well-known international journals. IBS has, to its credit:
- A full-time faculty with PhDs from well known universities such as Warwick and Glasgow University (UK), Cardiff University (UK) and HEC - Paris (France). This diversity confers on the programme an international outlook and state-of-the-art instruction in management.
- A part-time faculty with instructors who are prominent in the business world and whose experience can better help to connect students to the real business environment through the classes, workshops and seminars they give;
- A shared goal to provide an outstanding learning experience with every course; each learning module is closely supervised and evaluated to assure our School's reputation for exceptional teaching and curriculum quality.
List of Faculty
Eurico Brilhante DIAS
Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL Business School, Dr. Dias has a PhD in Management from ISCTE-IUL and a large experience in logistic, operations and distribution projects. Eurico Brilhante Dias was, during 5 years member of the board of AICEP – Portuguese Trade and Investment Organization. Member of expert commission of Logistic in Portugal.
Conceição SANTOS
Dr. Santos is an assistant professor at IBS. She has a PhD in Services Marketing from IAEd'Aix-Marseille III, France. She has published in leading scientific journals and has research interests in the areas of services marketing, entrepreneurship, social responsibility.
Fátima SALGUEIRO
With a MSc in Management from ISCTE-IUL and a PhD in Social Statistics from the University of Southampton (UK), Dr. Maria de Fátima Salgueiro is currently an Associate Professor at ISCTE-IUL Busines School. Her research interests include Statistical Modelling, namely Structural Equation Models, Latent Growth Curve Models and Graphical Models. She has published in leading scientific journals, both in terms of theoretical contributions to the field of Statistics and concerning applications in Marketing and Management.
José Pedro DIONÍSIO
Senior partner at IMR (Portugal) in the area of marketing services and associate professor at IBS, Dionísio has extensive consulting experience and is the director of Executive Master's in Marketing at IBS. He holds a PhD degree in Marketing from HEC - Paris (France) and he’s also Marketing, Operations and General Management Department Director at ISCTE-IUL Business School.
João Faria GOMES
João Faria Gomes is co-director of the Executive Master in Brand Management at IBS. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Management from Catolica University. He is a lecturer at IBS. He has held management positions in large Portuguese and multinational companies and possesses extensive consulting experience. He is director and senior consultant at Kayak, Consultoria de Negócios.
Luís JUSTINO
Guest Lecturer at IBS, Dr. Justino holds a Bachelor's in Management in ISCTE. He is a senior partner at Proóptica and director of GIEM/ISCTE. He is also director of the Executive Master's in Commercial Administration at IBS.
Luíz MOUTINHO
Professor Moutinho is a full Professor in Glasgow University. He completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 1982 and held posts at Cardiff Business School, University of Wales College of Cardiff, Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA, Northern Arizona University, USA and California State University, USA. He has held Visiting Professorship positions in several Universities in Europe, America and Asia. He is author of 19 books, namely, Strategic Marketing, Contemporary Issues in Marketing, Strategic Management in Tourism, Quantitative Analysis in Marketing Management and Applied Consumer Behaviour and has published in leading scientific journals. He is the founding Editor of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2).
Hélia Gonçalves PEREIRA
Assistant professor of Marketing at IBS, Dr. Pereira holds a PhD degree in Marketing from the ISCTE Business School (IBS). She is the director of Marketing FutureCastLab, the first European laboratory in new trends in marketing, which researches and analyzes international trends in the field and is supported by a joint venture of 20 of the major companies operating in Portugal.
Paulo RITA
Paulo Rita is a Full Professor of Marketing at ISCTE Business School (IBS), Lisbon. Previously, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas (USA), where he did post-doctoral research on E-Marketing. Prof. Rita received his Doctorate (PhD) in Marketing from Cardiff Business School at the University of Wales (UK). He is an Executive Committee Member of EDAMBA (European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration), Director of the PhD in Marketing (IBS) and Director of the Master in Hospitality and Tourism Management (IBS). His publications and current research interests focus on Electronic Commerce, Consumer Behavior and Tourism Marketing.
Rui Vinhas da SILVA
Rui Vinhas da Silva has a PhD and Post-Doctorate from Manchester Business School. Before joining ISCTE as an Associate Professor in April 2010, he was an Associate Professor at Manchester Business School and a member of faculty since 1998. Over the years he was heavily involved in MBA teaching and PhD supervision at MBS. Throughout this period he was very actively involved in Senior Executive training programmes and consultancy through Manchester Business School. Vinhas da Silva has research interests in the areas of national competitiveness, country branding, corporate reputation and country of origin effects having published books and numerous journal articles in both streams.
Susana Henriques MARQUES
Assistant professor at IBS, Dr. Cunha holds a PhD in Marketing at IBS and has extensive experience in merchandising consultant services at the Merchandising Institute, Portugal.
