Consolidating its over two decades commitment in China, ISCTE Business School offers in Chengdu and Guangzhou two different Doctor of Management programs structured according to the legislation that regulates the Bologna process and focusing on two main areas: Business Administration, in cooperation with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Chengdu); and Healthcare Management in cooperation with the Southern Medical University (Guangzhou).
The Doctor of Management effectively applies state of the art knowledge to specific issues in management and healthcare administration, enhancing the quality of decision-making.

Developing and concluding the Thesis.
The research areas for Thesis include:

Curriculum
First year:
- Coursework
- Second year and following:
- Developing and concluding the Thesis. (The dissertation should be written in English);
- 1 or 2 weeks studying and visiting in Portugal, including lecture, company visits, Thesis oral defense and graduation ceremony.
Thesis supervision and oral defense
- Thesis will be jointly tutored by two supervisors, one from ISCTE and one form UESTC.
- Supervisors are assigned after the first year.
- Thesis oral defense will be held at ISCTE. The Committee of Thesis Oral Defense includes 3 ISCTE members and 2 UESTC members.
- The Committee President will be a professor from ISCTE.

Coursework
- The completion of 16 courses is required for this Doctoral program;
- Courses are organized in THREE blocks;
- Block ONE has four courses, 2 with 12 hours and 2 with 24 hours each; Block TWO has six courses with 24 hours each course; Block THREE has six courses with 12 hours each course;
- Teaching language is English-Chinese, bilingual

Developing and concluding the thesis. The Thesis has a central role in the Doctor of Healthcare Management program.
