The IBS has a core faculty of approximately 80 full-time professors and 80 part-time professors and teaching and research assistants.

Most of the core faculty have international PhD degrees from renowned U.S. and European universities such as Columbia, Carnegie - Mellon, North Carolina (US), HEC - Paris (France), Leuven (Belgium), Lausanne (Switzerland), Lancaster, London Business School, London School of Economics, Warwick (UK).  This diversity confers on the Business School an international outlook and countless opportunities for valuable future networking. The Business School also has regular short and long term visiting professors, lending an added international dimension to the faculty.

The full-time faculty is actively engaged in pursuing research that meets the highest international standards.  They have published in the most prestigious journals in their fields such as  Accounting and Business Research, Biometrika, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of International Marketing and the Journal of Multivariate Analysis.

The School also has on its part-time faculty a significant number of top managers from Portugal who will give you the chance to experience and interact with the business world.  These hands-on experts are also instrumental in making sure that the programme and the design of the courses maintain a strong business orientation.
