Quantitative Methods
Introduction
Director: Professor Rui Menezes
The Department of Quantitative Methods at ISCTE Business School was created in 1998. Since its faculty has vast experience in both teaching and research, the department has played a key role in the way ISCTE is structured and is responsible for a host of college-wide activities involving research, teaching, consulting and education.
The Department of Quantitative Methods is one of the three departments that make up the Business School and has been an important reference in undergraduate and graduate teaching and research in Portugal and abroad. Recognizing the crucial importance of quantitative methods, the Department strives to keep the field front and centre - not only at ISCTE - but within the field of academics itself.
Faculty
There are 62 instructors in the Department of Quantitative Methods, 23 of whom have doctoral degrees, and all of whom are particularly devoted and skilled at teaching and research. Some faculty members are guest lecturers who bring to the classroom their unique experiences in the real world of business and technology.
The Department's faculty have published widely within the different fields of quantitative methods. Many of their books are used as reference or textbooks - not only at ISCTE - but at other universities teaching business and engineering.
